The members of "Women Sharing Art, Inc." are multi-talented women with
many other responsibilities to their families and businesses. Their
art is their passion and they possess a common bond as women artists
sharing and exploring their artistic energies. "Women Sharing Art,
Inc." has welcomed into membership talented artists in the media of
photography, painting and watercolor, art glass, fiber arts, mosaic
design, culinary arts and film and they desire to reach out to many
more
talented artists as well. Poetry, literary arts, sculpture,
music...the possibilities are endless...just like your creativity.

"Women Sharing Art, Inc." will provide the support and avenues to
their members to promote their artistic passions. As a not-for-profit
corporation, the organization's future goals include plans for grant
approvals, the awarding of scholarships to women to continue their
artistic education in their fields, as well as continued exhibitions
of their work.
In 2011,
Women Sharing Art bestowed its first scholarship to a high school
student.
If you are a creative woman who has the passion to
explore and share your art, then "Women Sharing Art, Inc." encourages
you to apply for membership. As a member
of this inclusive group of women you will benefit from their support,
experience and organizational skills. "Women Sharing Art, Inc." aims
to provide encouragement, as well as assistance, to women desiring to
further their artistic accomplishments.

"Women Sharing Art, Inc." is a not-for-profit corporation founded in
May 2008 by a group of local Long Island women who possessed a burning
desire to “Share Energy and Explore Artistic Passions”. Sue Miller had
a ‘vision in her heart’ to establish an artistic forum for women of
all ages and backgrounds to come together and explore and share their
‘inner artists’. Thus, "Women Sharing Art" was on its way.
On July 2009 the IRS granted "Women sharing Art, Inc." the
status of 501 (c)(3) exemption.
Sue and Pat D’Aversa shared their common interest in photography and
met many years ago. Victoria Beckert was then introduced to Sue when a
women’s art group was a flame just igniting. Within a short time,
mother/daughter glass artisans, Sandy and Kathy Seff joined the group.
In 2008 these artists, along with Jacy Needles, of Portugal and
Janet Golka, exhibited their artwork for the first time together as a
new group. The show was at the Bayport-Blue Point Library and
Library Coordinator, Flo Olsson, noted that this show “was probably
the most successful exhibit the Library ever had”. Response and
appreciation to the works of art was positive and immediate, and
before long other local artists joined this unique and new exciting
group, "Women Sharing Art, Inc." The shared enthusiasm of these
talented artists is contagious and serves to inspire all its members
and associates.
On May 17, 2008, "Women Sharing Art, Inc." premiered at the newly
renovated BAFFA (Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts) Gallery in
Sayville, New York (www.baffa-li.org).
The women showcased watercolors, portraits, oil paintings,
photography, art glass, interior design, textiles and fabrics. The
rave reviews poured in….. "Eclectic!"… "Beautiful Blending of
Creativity!"... "Outstanding!"… "Fabulous!" (See “News”)
