Ellen
is the mother of four VERY active children! She gave up a teaching
position at an elementary school to focus on raising her family while
her husband pursued his career in real estate appraising. All four of
her children (and husband) have been involved in national sailing
regattas over the years. This, coupled with her children’s
participation in competitive swimming, found Ellen sitting at various
yacht clubs and pool sides for hours at a time. With all this free
time while her family was competing, she decided to reacquaint herself
with her knitting needles.
She has taken her passion
for knitting and started a flourishing “habit” called Oceana Knitworks
of Blue Point. From her choice of yarns, colors, and the names she
gives her pieces, her love of the sea and all things aquatic not only
inspired the name of the business, but is a noticeable theme among all
of her handbags, scarves, wraps, and accessories. |
