Ginnie Moore - Word Lover

I have always loved words. I love to speak them, to hear them spoken, to read them, to sing them … As a youngster I was an avid letter writer and reader; today I remain an avid reader, but alas, emailing has replaced letter writing …

In 2006 I left the world of business, and my career, in order to attend to my mother, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Within a few months I realized I had enough time on my hands in which to pursue some type of work outside the home, while still giving my mother the daily care and attention she required. The perfect job landed in my lap almost immediately – my hometown newspaper (Sayville Gazette) needed a writer and advertising sales person and before you could say, “Hi, I’m Ginnie Moore” I had a job – writing!

Today I write for and about Sayville on the town’s website: www.Sayville.com, and believe me when I say, “The fun never ends!”.

I cover town events and have discovered my ‘voice’, my ‘gift’ -- my ability to write as I speak. My articles are mini-visits with my readers; I write about local events while I weave personal memories and impressions into much of my work. Oftentimes I become sidetracked and hysterical non sequiturs find their way into many articles.

My art is my love of expressing myself through words. Words move us emotionally in much the same way a work of art can ... and best of all; I do not have to spend money on frames, easels or pedestals in order to display my work!
