Nancy Lucia Wagner’s paintings have been shown at Jeanouard Gallery, Glen Cove, NY, Anderson Gallery, Locust Valley, NY, Rocquemore Gallery, CA, Carriage House Gallery, Guilford CT, and also in various Corporate and Municipal locations as part of the Town of Oyster Bay Rotational Art Exhibit.

She holds a NYS Certificate, endorsed by BOCES, NACCE and SACCE to teach painting in Adult Continuing Education Programs.

Originally a full time professional Cabaret singer and Recording Artist for Genuine Records and registered Broadcast Music Inc song writer, she had little time to devote to her love for painting.

Until Sid Caesar, a painter himself, greatly encouraged her to go forward with her painting. She had been his Opening Act many times, but this was the first time he had seen pictures of her paintings and he commissioned her to do a winter scene for him, making him her first collector. Shortly after that while singing on a TV Show with Paul Anka and Tony Bennet, it was Tony Bennet, another fine painter, who further encouraged her to seriously pursue her painting upon her retirement from show business..

She was most honored when she was commissioned by The Church of St. Rocco in Glen Cove, to do a 8ft by 16ft painting of St. Rocco in the forest She had four wood panels attached to her studio wall in Locust Valley and five months later the painting was completed, removed from her studio and installed in St. Rocco’s Church. Afterward they had a Consecration Ceremony and Blessing by the Bishop.

In Nancy’s words, “I have never felt more humbled and grateful for the talent and opportunity to do this work it means more to me than any of the standing ovations I had as a singer”.

She was then commissioned to do three more paintings of Saints for the Church.

When asked what she would like to accomplish in the future, she responds, “My first priority is to continue to grow in my work and make each new painting better than the last. To create in my humble way a tangible statement of beauty and charm that can bring joy to the beholder and last for ages; this is my true goal and reward.
