I've always been grateful that I knew I wanted to be an artist. Of
course, loving so many different types of art doesn't always send you
in the right direction. First it was fashion design, then interior
design and AutoCAD, which I became certified in. I was being hired for
an interior design position, ( I thought it was my dream job), but
because of 9/11 they had a hiring freeze. This lead me to my current
job, and thru working with other talented artists they encouraged me
to try watercolor painting! Well, as soon as I started I knew that
painting was what I really wanted to do, and my background in interior
design influences some of my painting. Every time I sit down to paint
I find myself smiling.
I have 2 wonderful daughters in college and they are always
encouraging. They were very patient while I tried different faux
painting techniques and murals in our house, which I also really enjoy
doing. I can always count on my girls and my family to be honest with
their opinions. In the future I hope to try acrylic and oil painting.
I am so thrilled to be accepted in Women Sharing Art, and meet so many
passionate and talented artists.
